Metaxa Hospitality Group is once again included among the “Most Sustainable Companies in Greece” for 2026, according to the Quality Net Foundation, reaffirming for the second consecutive year the Group’s steadfast commitment to sustainable tourism development. This distinction recognizes the comprehensive integration of ESG criteria into every aspect of its strategic planning and operations, as well as its ability to transform sustainability into a driver of growth, innovation, and social responsibility.

The evaluation process for the annual list of “The Most Sustainable Companies in Greece” is based on a multi‑layered system covering ten sectors of the economy and focuses on businesses that adopt a holistic approach to Environmental, Social, and Governance issues. These are companies that apply Sustainable Development as a core parameter of their business strategy and demonstrate in practice that responsibility can go hand in hand with competitiveness. Metaxa Hospitality Group has already been included in the leading group of the first 43 companies, while the evaluation process continues until the publication of the final 2026 list.

The Quality Net Foundation initiative is implemented for the ninth consecutive year and is held under the auspices of the Ministries of National Economy & Finance, Development, and Environment & Energy, with the support of SEV, EBEA, and the Hellenic Bank Association, in collaboration with the German Council for Sustainable Development. This institutional dimension further enhances the prestige of the distinction and highlights the role of businesses that actively contribute to the country’s transition to a more sustainable economic model.

The developmental footprint of Metaxa Hospitality Group is particularly strong in the regions where it operates. Through significant investments in high‑standard hospitality infrastructure, the Group strengthens the local economy, creates stable employment opportunities, and supports social cohesion. At the same time, it develops partnerships with local producers and businesses, contributing to the advancement of the circular economy and the preservation of local productive identity. Its social contribution extends to initiatives supporting institutions and organizations, while special emphasis is placed on education and skills development for employees and young tourism professionals. In this way, the Group acts as a consistent pillar of development, helping shape a more sustainable and competitive model for Greek tourism.

Recognized as the “Best Hospitality Group in Greece” by the World Travel Awards 2021–2025, Metaxa Hospitality Group is a benchmark for authentic hospitality and its strategic approach to sustainable development. Founded in 1975 by the late Nikolaos Metaxas and, since 2011, led by Andreas N. Metaxas, the Group has entered a new era of dynamic and responsible growth, with a steadfast focus on sustainability and innovation.

Today, the Group operates luxury five‑star resorts and hotels with more than 1,100 rooms in Crete and Santorini: Creta Maris Resort in Hersonissos, TUI Magic Life Candia Maris in Ammoudara, and the Santo Collection in Oia, Santorini. It also operates the “Mikis Theodorakis” Conference Center, the largest in Crete and one of the leading venues in Greece, strengthening the country’s presence in conference tourism.

The new 2026 distinction confirms that Metaxa Hospitality Group does not simply follow global sustainability trends but actively contributes to shaping a new benchmark for Greek tourism. With strategic consistency, investment boldness, and social responsibility, the Group continues to highlight a hospitality model that creates value for people, the economy, and the environment.
