Bahrain Wins Tourism Investment Forum 2027

Bahrain is strengthening its position in the global tourism investment landscape following the signing of a high level agreement during the Arabian Travel Market 2026 in Dubai. Her Excellency Fatima bint Jaafar Al Sairafi, Minister of Tourism of Bahrain, and Her Excellency Shaikha Nasser Al Nuwais, Secretary General for Tourism of the United Nations, formalized Bahrain’s role as host of the International Tourism Investment Forum (ITIF), which will take place in Manama from 10 to 12 January 2027. The signing ceremony was attended by senior officials and representatives from across the international tourism sector, underscoring the strategic importance of the event.
With ITIF 2027, Bahrain aims to position itself as a regional and international hub for tourism investment, leveraging its stable business environment, advanced infrastructure and strategic location in the Gulf. The Forum will bring together ministers, investors, financial institutions and private sector leaders, creating a high level platform where policy direction, capital allocation and long term partnership building converge. Discussions will focus on investment flows, financing models for major tourism projects and the development of collaborations capable of generating sustained economic and social returns. Bahrain will also present its flagship tourism projects and investment opportunities to global investors, highlighting the Kingdom’s ambition to attract new capital and diversify its tourism economy.
In her statement, Minister Fatima bint Jaafar Al Sairafi emphasized that the agreement marks a significant step toward establishing Bahrain as a regional and international destination for tourism investment. She noted that ITIF will provide decision makers and investors with a global platform to identify new opportunities and forge lasting partnerships, while showcasing Bahrain’s strengths: a robust investment climate, modern infrastructure, strategic connectivity and a diversified tourism offering.
Shaikha Nasser Al Nuwais highlighted the decisive role of investment in shaping tourism’s ability to generate employment, strengthen resilience and sustain long term growth. She stated that UN Tourism will bring its global investment expertise and network to Manama, thanking the Kingdom of Bahrain for hosting the Forum. She added that the ambition is clear: to help transform tourism potential into investment projects that deliver enduring value.
The agreement reflects Bahrain’s commitment to international cooperation in tourism and its intention to enhance the competitiveness of its tourism sector through targeted investment. It also underscores the role of UN Tourism as a catalyst for sustainable investment models at a time when tourism is evolving into a strategic pillar of economic development for many countries.
