Donation by Ioannis Grylos to the Hellenic Air Force Academy

The Hellenic Air Force Academy (HAF Academy) inaugurated its newly reconstructed recreation hall at the Dekelia Air Base, in a ceremony attended by Greece’s Minister of National Defence Nikos Dendias, Chief of the Hellenic National Defence General Staff General Dimitrios Choupis, and Chief of the Hellenic Air Force General Staff Lieutenant General (Air) Dimosthenis Grigoriadis.
The renovation was made possible through a donation by AVIAREPS Hellas S.A., offered by Ioannis Grylos, Founder and President of the IOGR Group (SKY express). The contribution delivers a modern, functional and fully equipped facility, designed to improve the daily life of cadets and support their training environment with upgraded infrastructure.
The ceremony was also attended by representatives of the Region of Attica, senior officers from the Army and Navy General Staffs, members of the Supreme Air Council, Academy personnel and cadets, representatives of veterans’ associations, and members of Mr. Grylos’ family — underscoring the institutional significance of the initiative.
The donation reflects a strong commitment to social responsibility, strengthening a historic military educational institution and supporting the next generation of Air Force officers through tangible, high impact infrastructure improvements.
