HMU and SEPE Form Digital Innovation Partnership

The Hellenic Mediterranean University (HMU) and the Federation of Hellenic Information Technology & Communications Enterprises (SEPE) signed a Memorandum of Cooperation on Tuesday, July 28, 2026, at the University’s Rectorate Hall, marking the start of a strategic alliance aimed at strengthening ties between academia and Greece’s rapidly evolving ICT sector.
The agreement was signed by HMU Rector Professor Nikos Katsarakis and SEPE Chair Giota Paparidou. Attending the ceremony were HMU Vice Rector for Academic Affairs and Lifelong Learning Professor Fotis Mavromatakis and Executive Director Dr. Vanessa Simandiraki. SEPE was represented by Konstantinos Tsoukakis (CLOUDT), Alexandros Tzortzakakis (Aegean Solutions), and Ilias Sarantoglou (CLOUD Services – Oxygen).
Under the memorandum, the two institutions will collaborate across education, professional training, research, innovation, and technology transfer, while promoting stronger links between HMU students and graduates and the country’s digital technology enterprises. The partnership also foresees joint scientific, educational, and outreach initiatives, support for digital skills development, and exploration of opportunities in research and development programs.
Particular emphasis will be placed on knowledge exchange, best practice sharing, and continuous updates for the academic community on emerging trends and needs within the ICT sector. The initiative aims to create new pathways for internships, professional growth, and networking, bridging higher education with the digital economy.
The collaboration underscores HMU’s growing role as a hub for applied research and innovation in Southern Europe, reinforcing its commitment to connect academic excellence with industry transformation.
