SETN 2026 in Chania

The Technical University of Crete will host the 14th Conference of the Hellenic Artificial Intelligence Society (SETN 2026) from 9 to 11 September 2026 at the Cultural Center of Chania. The event, dedicated to the memory of Pavlos Peppas and Themis Panayiotopoulos, stands as one of Greece’s most important forums for presenting cuttingedge research and technological advances in Artificial Intelligence.

Organised by the School of Electrical and Computer Engineering of the Technical University of Crete, in collaboration with the Hellenic Artificial Intelligence Society and the Region of Crete, SETN 2026 brings together researchers, academics and industry experts from Greece and abroad. With English as its official language, the conference maintains a distinctly international character and aligns with global AI research standards.

Opening remarks will be delivered by Androniki Tzomaka, Advisor to the Special Secretariat for LongTerm Planning of the Presidency of the Greek Government; Katerina Pastra, President of the Hellenic Artificial Intelligence Society; the elected Rector of the Technical University of Crete, Professor KonstantinosAlketas Ouggrinis; and Professor Georgios Chalkiadakis of the School of Electrical and Computer Engineering.

Established in 1996 as the flagship conference of the Hellenic Artificial Intelligence Society, SETN has been held biennially since 2002 in different cities across Greece. It has evolved into a key venue for presenting highquality theoretical and applied AI research, attracting both Greek and international scientists.

The conference aims to connect AI researchers, promote knowledge exchange and collaboration, inform students about current developments in the field, showcase research outcomes to industry and support the creation of innovative products. With SETN 2026 taking place in Chania, the Technical University of Crete strengthens its position as a regional hub for AI research and technological innovation in Southeast Europe.
